eSelf AI and the Center for Educational Technology are partnering to revolutionize education with personalized AI tutors. This groundbreaking initiative will be the first national-scale deployment of AI tutoring, beginning with 10,000 Israeli students in May. The collaboration addresses critical educational challenges highlighted by the "Two Sigma Problem" research, which found students with one-on-one tutoring perform significantly better than those in traditional classrooms. With global teacher shortages reaching 44 million and declining test scores worldwide, these AI tutors offer a timely solution. Students will interact with responsive avatars that adapt to individual learning styles, providing support both in and outside the classroom. The tutors help with content comprehension, independent practice, and exam preparation, while delivering faster response times than other AI assistants. Backed by $4.5 million in seed funding, eSelf AI's team of 20 is led by CEO Alan Bekker and CTO Eylon Shoshan. The initiative has strong academic support from Harvard University, with advisor Victor Pereira emphasizing how this technology democratizes access to quality tutoring regardless of student background. These AI tutors are highly customizable in appearance and personality, capable of generating visual content, and supporting multiple languages. The program will expand from initial Hebrew language instruction to cover all K-12 subjects by September 2025. This partnership sets a new global standard for educational technology, making personalized learning accessible to students nationwide while supporting rather than replacing teachers.
